    The New Energy New York (NENY) Technical Assistance Program provides funding to support New York-based battery and energy storage startups and small to medium-sized companies. Grants are available for development, prototyping, testing, and certification services through qualified providers, helping to accelerate technology commercialization and scale-up.

    Who is eligible?

    • Track A: Up to $75,000 for startups (<5 years old, <$2M non-governmental funding)
    • Track B: Up to $100,000 for small to medium-sized companies (≤500 employees, <$5M in product sales revenue attributable to the subject product/technology in the previous fiscal year)

    Both tracks require the applicant to be a New York state-based battery or energy storage company with a physical presence in N.Y. throughout the program and for one year post-contract.

    What is eligible?

    ✔️ Prototyping and development

    ✔️ Testing and certification

    ✔️ Non-commercial pilot-scale contract manufacturing

    (Note: Funding goes directly to the qualifying service provider/facility to defray the costs associated with services for developing battery and energy storage technologies.)

    Get guidance on submitting a successful application and hear from service providers. New Energy New York (NENY), led by Binghamton University in partnership with NY-BEST, is launching Round 3 of the NENY Technical Assistance Program. This initiative provides up to $100,000 in funding to help New York-based battery and energy storage companies accelerate the development and commercialization of their technologies.

    This is your opportunity to access essential support for testing, prototyping, and certification services from qualified vendors across the state.

    Who Should Apply?

    Companies located in New York State that are developing battery-related technologies, products, or services across the supply chain.

    Award Tracks:

    • Track A: Up to $75,000 for startups (founded <5 years ago, with <$2M non-governmental funding)

    • Track B: Up to $100,000 for small to medium-sized companies (≤500 employees, <$5M in product sales revenue attributable to the subject technology in the last fiscal year)
